Increasing education capacity in Papua, Indonesia:  A partnership with the Department of Education and Culture to build the competence of teachers and teacher education systems towards global standards Agreement between the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) and the Commonwealth of Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australian Aid Government Partnerships for Development Program (GPFD) to raise education capacity in the province of Papua, Indonesia.

The program focus is on improving education in the rural and highland regions of Papua. The major goals of the program are the capacity building of teachers, principals, department of education staff, and teacher educators to increase the knowledge and skills. Springfields conducts the Monitoring and Evaluation for the program engaging Papuan educators and education officials in a program of systemic change towards increased teacher competency, stronger curriculum outcomes, more supportive and inclusive school environments.
